If, by chance, you are a fan of both Art and Movies then this post is for you. Find below the many Locations, in poster format of course, from your favorite movies.
You're welcome... ***Drops mic on table and walks out***
Actors may be front and center but, sometimes, the location is the star of a movie. Hogwarts in Harry Potter, Bag End in Lord of the Rings, the firehouse in Ghostbusters, places like these have become as iconic — if not more so — than the movies they’re in.
That’s the idea behind UnReal Estate, a the latest installment of the art show by Austin-based artist Tim Doyle, which opens at the Spoke Art gallery in San Francisco, CA on July 2. For the fourth year in a row, Doyle has interpreted some of pop culture’s most famous locations as limited edition screenprints and one-of-a-kind drawings. The first three years, Doyle did TV locations but now, for round four, he’s moved to the big screen. Here are just a few of the pieces in the show, both the colored screenprints, and black and white original drawings.
There are 10 total pieces in the show, each in three editions. A one-of-a-kind original, a regular screenprint and a variant screenprint. They’ll first go on sale at the opening reception, 6-10pm July 2 and then come online the next week.
The first 100 attendees will also get a free screenprint themed in the show. It’s from Mad Max: Fury Road.
UnReal Estate IV: The Movie by Tim Doyle opens July 2 from 6-10pm at Spoke Art, 816 Sutter St. San Francisco CA. It remains on display through July 25. Visit Spoke Art for more info.
