We all love technology (well most of you do anyways).
Those who don't love technology are either aging or have been abused in the past by technology. I will admit that there are those people, called "Cord cutters" by some, that avoid technology on purpose and sometimes at all costs.
Companies are working overtime to make products that everyone will want. Everything from cell phones, tablets, phablets (phone/tablet cross-overs - think Galaxy Note 1, 2 & 3) and laptops for the common man like the Chromebook.
I have to admit that I am a Technogeek, I love technology! I have a Galaxy S4 phone, the Nexus 7 tablet and the Samsung Google Chromebook. I also have the Google Chromecast and Roku Player.
Do I think that tablets will replace the Desktop? No. The Desktop will remain important to both the Enterprise and Gaming Markets. I will not give up my desktop, ever. I would like to see World of Warcraft or Battlefield 3 played on a tablet in the same manor that you play it on a Desktop. Even with a Keyboard and Mouse it wouldn't be the same.
Personally I am not a Phablet guy. I have a large format phone that is big enough for me, the Galaxy S4, and I have a tablet, the Nexus 7. I like having both. The phablets are a little bulky and hard to handle though I know a few who love the size of the Note 2; my brother-in-law, Devin, is one.
Being an IT Generalist I am constantly dropping my phone so I got an Otterbox with clip and I can't imagine having a Note 2 in an Otterbox and clipped to my pocket or belt. I know that I would always hit it on desks or knock it off the clip and that would suck.
The new Note 3 will be fast and have an HD screen and will be able to do everything that i can do on my S4. As a technogeek I think that they have a place in today's market but they are definitely not for me.
What do you think?
Until next time...
