According to the Los Angeles Times Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford have all sighed to reprise their role in the upcoming Star Wars film.
For those who have not been following the news, Disney bought Lucasfilm for $4.08 Billion late last year, adding it to other acquired studios such as Marvel. George Lucas will stay on as a consultant for the next three movies according to the article.
Word is that J.J. Abrams is slated to direct the first movie, Episode VII, slated to be out in theaters in 2015.
From the article, "Fisher hasn't been shy with the news, though. “Yes,” she told Palm Beach Illustrated, she will reprise her role. When asked what Princess Leia is like today, she replied with a laugh that she’s in an “intergalactic old folks’ home.”
There are millions, if not billions, of fans and all of them have an opinion on whether this will be something good for the franchise or not but not a lot of fans were not happy with Jar Jar Binks (count me among them) so some see this as a "cannot get worse than Jar Jar scenario).
Time will tell.
